Have you seen Drive yet? I don’t remember the last time I found myself head-over-heels in love with a movie. It has everything. It has car chase scenes, speed, a kickass soundtrack (I love the funky 80s theme going on there), violence (god, the violence in this film is amazing!) and most importantly, it has Ryan Gosling, one of the most amazing actors of our generation (go see The Believer and Half Nelson). This is my movie of the year, definitely.
I was going to put the trailer here but it gives so much away, so here’s the opening scene instead. Kind of cuts off, but that gives you all the more reason to see it.

I wanted to see that one for 2 weeks now! Its the same director -Nicolas Winding Refn- as the movie I was telling you about : “Valhalla rising” (totally hallucinated… hard to watch yet captivating) that I saw one evening here in Saudi. (censorship here really doesn’t mind violence for children on TV…)

You know, i haven’t heard of this movie yet. We are just so behind in Iowa. My husband would love this. Anyway, we finally saw I love you Phillip Morris thru Netflix. It was not shown in the theatre in our area at all. There are many social conservatives here. But you know, same sex marriage is legal here…Hmmmm…
