… Aix-en-Provence, I mean. Automatically it means I can’t wait to be in Paris!

A few weeks ago I was alone in Paris, dragging myself in and out of the metro, tramway and various stinky SNCF trains. All the trouble was worth it, though, because I have finally found an apartment, which has everything we wanted: it’s new enough, big enough, close enough (to La Defense, that is), is within the budget and it has a parking slot. Bravissimo!

I know there are some people who actually like apartment-hunting, and I am not one of those people, especially since I was dragging a backpack full of useless stuff (and the question keeps repeating itself in my head, over and over: why did I bring my robot along?), holding a map in one hand and an umbrella in the other, and was navigating the streets of Paris without a GPS system, or a Sense of Direction.

But yeah, I made it, it’s over and done with, so I can quit complaining. I did get to do some “chores” in Paris while I was at it:

1. I watched The Science of Sleep at the Odeon and got a student discount without showing a student ID card (I told the lady, and I quote, “I don’t have a student ID card” and she said crossly “Well, remember to bring it next time then!” and punched in a discounted ticket without even waiting for me to reply that I wasn’t a student but a bum, and maybe I didn’t correct her, and so what, and why are you judging me? Shut up.)

2. I went to my favourite lingerie shop, Women’s Secret, and bought beautiful things.

I am so bored and restless already. I am so excited to move to Paris, I wish someone had already invented a Fastforward Your Days gadget. Don’t get me started on inventors, those lazy bastards…

Hi kala, I’ve been lurking for quite sometime now. I just strongly felt like commenting on this entry because I AM SOO JEALOOOUS!!!

It’s a wonderful city. I wish I could experience it – (as in living it) in my lifetime. Kahit isang taon lang.

Look forward to your livin la vida parisiana posts!

    You write beautifully…keep blogging!

Your excitement is infectious haha I can’t wait to start reading about your other Parisian episodes :-)
Also, if you come across a fastforward-your-days thingy, please ship it over to me after you’re done with it, hehe
BTW, your comment box is sumpungin! I’ve been trying to leave a comment for the past two days and only got through today.

so, so, so, where is it??? La Defense is a central point for the public transports in Paris, it’s the open road to the Champs Elysees, to Les Halles, and then to all those places that make Paris what it is.
And it has a parking lot? I don’t know if it’s you or the robot, but I’ll invite you both as soon as I start looking for a new place.

Good luck with the moving, when is it programmed?

looneyinbarnsley> hey, thanks! me too, i feel the same way. For the french or other people who are living in France, living in Paris really sounds like torture, and i can understand where they’re coming from, but … as you said, kahit isang taon lang! Paris is still Paris, hehehe.

Junnie> you bet my robot enjoyed the trip! He was a bit of a drag at the end of the trip though, since he kept bitching the whole time, wanting to go to museums while I was busy doing grown-up stuff like looking at apartments…

denden> yep, I agree. I’m getting a hang of this discount thing. Think of all the moolah it will save me.

Kat> You betcha. Mahmud (my robot) is a very special guy… First of all, he’s well-travelled and knows a lot more about life and humankind than I do, so it’s always nice to have him around when I go on trips. Plus he can read maps, unlike myself. He gets very philosophical, though. To other people, he is just a robot…
(ok, I should stop, before you throw me to the mental asylum…)

Mik> really? my comment box blows. I’ll take a look at it. If this comment gets through (and it better get through, cause I’ve typed a damn book here already), then the sumpong is gone. hehehe. Maybe you and D are thinking of another honeymoon? France beckons…

tommpouce> It’s just outside La Defense. There’s a new tram line that starts from there so it’s pretty convenient. It’s just a few stops via tramway. 4 more weeks and counting, can’t wait!

Tuesday> of course! make sure to mail me if you’re going to be around the area. would be nice to meet finally.

Kat> be sure to tell me when you’re coming to Paris! we are definitely meeting up to ogle at cute French men (uh, ok, I think the appropriate word would be “appreciate” hehe). Oooh, what’s the post about? Your EP? Ikaw talaga, another thing to wait for, hehehe… will check it out tomorrow.
