To anyone out there (living in the South of France, preferrably around Aix-en-Provence, of course) who has been searching for a decent piste cyclable, hey-ho, I have an important announcement, we have found it! It’s in Toulon. It stretches from Hyères to Toulon and beyond and most importantly – you’ll pass by McDonald’s, which is open on Sundays.

Since this discovery, we have been taking our rollerblades and driving 70 km on Sunday mornings, adding blisters and sores to our feet. No, I’m not complaining. In fact, I love rollerblading. I love the feeling when, after half an hour of uphill (gentle, but still uphill), my legs become numb and I become nothing more than a skating machine. Push, push, push. Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in.

We have skated 20 kms so far and there’s still a hell of a lot of road to skate. I can’t wait til next week…

Also, I have made a startling discovery. Julien and I have taken to the pavement as if it were our home. Perhaps we were gypsies in another life. Or maybe even asphalt. Worse, we have the nerve to take pictures. And even worse than that, I’m posting them here.

It’s time I take my inlines out of the closet again too. Though I haven’t found that perfect skating strip around toulouse yet.
Isn’t there a weekly or monthly collective ride around Aix or Toulon or even Marseille? It’s an experience I recommend to any skater!!!

Rollerblades + pine trees + great weather + Julien in thick red socks + Kala in spaghetti strapped tank top = great fun in the sun!

So, now you found an alternative way to go around town. Who cares for a driver’s license. much less who cares for 4 wheels, you got 8!

Great weather, wonderful idea, nice pictures what else can you ask for! Have a nice Sunday.

BTW, sorry we didn’t make it today but for sure next Sunday would be fine. Thanks Kala for always understanding :-) Take care and see you tomorrow.

Hubby and I are rollerbladers, too! But it’s been a while since we did because of hectic schedules, laziness and of course, winter. You’re making me want to get the dust off our rollerblades and go!
